Review of Love For Rent (2005) by Delvin C — 05 Sep 2005
I watched this movie, about a week ago, and WOW! I thought this was going to be another crappy (thanks to the awful review someone left about this film), meaningless romantic comedy, but I was completely wrong.
This movie captures the true essence of a romantic comedy. It tells the story of a Colombian immigrant who ilegally married her friend to obtain her green card. After her "husband" betrays her and empties her bank account, steals all her belongings, she is found with nothing, ready to give up and move back to Colombia.
After some comical events a wealthy couple, uncapable of having children, offer her $50,000 to become a surrogate mother. This story evolves into a touching film, that mixes love, immigration, surrogacy, adoption, and abuse, in a perfect way.
I recommend this film to anyone.
