Review of Love Arcadia (2015) by Patrick G — 30 Sep 2017
The movie was entertaining. 99% of the time, I leave in the middle. This one captured my interest. The beginning started with light humor when the girl "on a mission" walks into the tea shop. The boy takes interest in her - the banter starts along with the boy's mission. If you like Humphrey Bogart movies or "Brooklyn", you will like this also. This is a good story with engaging actors. Some imagery was also present (Not as strong as "On Golden Pond" but any in a movie is a good thing.) In the last 20 years, only a handful of movies grabbed my interest i.e. Bourne Identity, Brooklyn (was twice in a 2 week time span. I just had to take the family).
If you are into special effects, shocking nude scenes, graphic violence, etc., you will not like this movie. If you like "novelty writing" by writers earning a buck until the next legitimate opportunity, don't bother If you enjoy a great story line and convincing main actors, watching this movie is time well spent.
And to the writer, cast, director and crew, thank you!
I wish Siskel and Ebert were alive to see it.
NOTE: I am 61. I have probably posted 5 reviews in my lifetime.
