Review of Love & Other Drugs (2010) by Nicola B — 25 Jun 2011
Love and Other Drugs is a surprising story of a man, Jamie (Jake Gyllenhaal) who is a budding 'drug seller'or in better terms a failure who finds a way to become a medical drug seller. He has a way with words and is irresistable to all woman, but like most romantic comedies there is one girl who doesnt fall for it (at first) Maggie Murdoch (Anne Hathaway)is a 26 year old parkinson's disease patient, they meet by odd chance and develop a relationship for each other.
This movie was shockingly delightful, the director Edward Zwick (Awesome name) who is known for producing such flicks as 'I am Sam' and 'Blood Diamond, did a better job of directing the drama parts of this movie than comedy, the whole movie was definatley was not intended to be so emotionally dramtic but in the end it came across that way and with those moments that were funny, the shock A list Nude scenes and the sad emotional ride this movie took definatley makes it one of my personal favourite movies and well deserved of the 8/10 I give it.
Anne Hathaway definatley had the Spotlight by the end, as she did a wounderful job acting out a Parkinson's patient, she really captured the audience with her scenes where she had the disease in its worser states.
