Considering its polarizing genres, between sexual comedy and romantic drama, it doesn't surprise me that reviews are so divided... However, as unrealistic as the story may be as a whole (and it has every right to be, like all movies), I find these sort of dramatic emotional shifts to be far closer to reality than most films.

It's unrealistic in all the right places (for entertainment's sake), while managing to be poignant in ways that truly mirror such patterns of real life.
