Review of Love & Other Drugs (2010) by Timothy M — 18 Dec 2011
Without showing obvious bias to two of my favorite actors in Hollywood, I'll attempt to give a fair but glowing review.
This movie is an odd mix of comedy, drama and what some might consider outright pornography. I personally don't mind an odd mix so long as the movie itself maintains a steady beginning middle end with convincing performances ride to the credits. Jake Gyllenhaal is a smooth talking playboy turned sweet talking trustworthy boyfriend, Anne Hathaway is a socially aware artist suffering from a crippling disease who after having her breast gawked at attacks her co-star in a parking lot turned nympho with a sense of humor about being seen nude by Jake's movie brother.
Not a lot of consistency, but overall a fun movie experience if all you intend to do is sit and watch a movie.
