Review of Love & Other Drugs (2010) by Bass 9 — 16 Mar 2012
This theme is a bit familiar - boy wants girl, girl runs away because she is "ill" and doesn't want to burden him. However, Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway are both fine actors and do a great job with what they're given.
It's the 90's and Jamie (Gyllenhaal) is a pharmaceutical salesman on the cutting edge of Viagra's debut. His ways with women help him get to the top of his game, but it's the real love he begins to feel for Maggie that really changes his world.
Luckily, it's not one of those sappy, tear-jerkers. In simple terms, it's just another love story (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).
