Review of Love & Other Drugs (2010) by John S — 15 Feb 2013
It seems as though the critics were wrong about this one- exceptional performances by Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, and the movie was so good, so well done, and so amazing, it's a shame not many people like it.
Yes, it's a sex comedy, but then again, it isn't. It somehow seems, to the audience, like much more than just a sex comedy. Something about it makes it run deeper than that. It means more than that.
People keep complaining about how the plot wasn't good, or how there was too much sex in it- the plot was amazing and unique, and no sex scene lasted longer than thirty seconds or so. It earns the R rating, but it's a film that definitely should be watched by everyone.
"You need me, and I need you.".
"No, I- I don't, I don't need anybody!".
"We both need each other-".
"I don't!".
"Everybody does.".
