Review of Love and Other Disasters (2006) by John L — 27 Apr 2008
I really liked this unique British romantic comedy, it's not the best I've seen but a movie I would want to watch again every now and then. It's a realistic look at what love & dating is like, unlike most romantic comedies that fluff up reality.
I'm sure we all let the media cloud up our image of what true love is when in reality it's a choice, no one out there is perfect and relationships take a lot of work. I enjoyed Brittany's character, Jacks.
. a mix of Holly Golightly with Edie Segewick, someone I'd love to have as a fag hag lol.. and I guess the thing that attracted me to this romantic comedy is that it had a gay character & not only that, I could relate to his imagination of an ideal lover getting in the way of his own happiness.
Totally recommend this if you're sick of all the sappy, cliche romantic comedies!
