Review of Love and Honor (2006) by Bon S — 11 Aug 2007

This is from the director of the Oscar-nominated [i]The Twilight Samurai[/i]. This is about a samurai who works as a poison taster (he samples the food served to the feudal lord which he serves in case of poisoning) who while in the line of duty, so to speak, becomes blind and his dutiful wife does everything in her power to keep him from being disgrace.

The rather sappy ending notwithstanding, the film's quite a gem with great performances by the two lead actors.
