Review of Love and Honor (2006) by Carilyn E — 19 Jul 2008
An overall good movie with a definite pace change from American cinema. A period piece showing the trials of maintaining love and honor in Edo period Japan. The characters are likeable with as much depth that Japanese culture will allow, and the movie is punctuated with authentic humor and sincerety not seen much in film these days.
Yoji Yamada has a gift, and I really enjoyed this movie.
