Review of Love & Friendship (2016) by Devin C — 28 May 2016
Kate Beckinsale has never been quite so charmingly funny and witty.
This story based on the comedic Jane Austen novel explores Lady Susan Vernon's social ladder and the people severely affected by it.
Each of her actions either help or destroy all the relationships involved.
When it comes to her daughter she is very resilient letting her marry for love and not just for good fortune or provision.
The dialogue is very Jane-esque so keep that in mind but the clever banter between the characters is goofy soap opera material.
I certainly got a lot of chuckles from the interactions Lady Vernon immerses herself in.
Kate Beckinsale's performance shines so brightly plus the costumes, the art direction, the set design and the chemistry works so well.
