Liked but did not love "Love & Friendship". Note - I DO love period pieces and gave "Jane Eyre" and "Pride and Prejudice" 5 stars. This is obviously an entirely different kind of film - a comedy, and better written for stage than screen in my opinion.

It was amusing but in a somewhat slapstick way - nothing to truly invest you in the story or characters, or hope for any kind of outcome. The banter and witty repartee, seems to be the main thing, and at times that went too quickly to catch everything said.

There is symmetry but no real satisfaction in the way the film resolves. This film would have been perfect to watch on a plane so I wish I had skipped it in the theater!
