Review of Love & Friendship (2016) by Ching T — 04 Sep 2016
This movie and it's concept was quite superfluous; I never could get into it or care for Lady Susan and her machinations, or for any of the other characters. Chloe Sevigny had nothing to do other than wear a tight corset so her bosom overfloweth.
Perhaps I was too tired for the incredibly "too talky" nature of this film, but the dialogue was incredibly "cheeky and smart" once my ear got tuned in properly for the quick dry British humor.
The plot wrapped up too abruptly and out of the blue as if the director finally realized the running time of his movie. Overall, Lady Sudan's smugness bugged the crap out of me and I assure you I had no reason to be jealous.
