The screenwriter did a fine job of adapting the original material and I had no complaints with the quality of the acting. The movie engaged my mind. Unfortunately, it left my heart utterly cold. I usually enjoy intelligent villains (usually more than the heroes) but Kate Beckinsale's Lady Susan isn't evil.
..just manipulative and practical. It's like watching a snake devour its prey and I don't mean metaphorically. I mean it's like literally watching an animal digest its food.
