Review of Love & Friendship (2016) by Tim H — 01 Jun 2016
It has been a long long time since I heard the lyrical beauty of the English language when spoken with eloquence and panache. Kate Beckinsale is superb as a widow on the prowl for her daughter and herself in the marriage department.
She has suitors and Tom Bennett is an absolute hoop as a goofy, maladapted English country gentleman. It's a bit of Downton Abbey as well. The demands on Kate Beckinsale by the script are met with aplomb.
Do not miss this gem.
