Review of Love & Friendship (2016) by Mike V — 12 Jan 2017
Love & Friendship is a 2016 period comedy film written and directed by Whit Stillman.
This Jane option adaptation has the look, and I liked the choices of music. But there is something lacking here. The end comes up very quickly, but the main problem is Beckinsale. She talks far too quickly, so that it is often difficult to understand or follow what is happening. Although there is no fault with her acting, at times she appears a little too rehearsed in her scenes. There are a few humorous moments, and a few plot twists, but not enough to make this an outstanding film.
