Review of Love and Death (2013) by Dillon L — 29 Aug 2011
Love & Death carries all the trademark features of your typical Woody Allen comedy from the 70's but its unique in how it both loves and makes fun of it's inspirations, namely the writings of Bergman and Dostoevsky.
It's incredibly well made and it shot wonderfully in a way that makes you feel like your watching a period-piece but with the wit and comedy going on it's completely hilarious. Imagine screwball dialogue coming out of the mouths of Russian commoners and power brokers.
Easily one of Allen's best works.
