Review of Love Affair (1939) by Gregory W — 02 Jul 2008

I would have given this movie 5 stars. The problem is that I don't like Boyer. Had Cary Grant been in this version instead of in "An Affair To Remember", this pic would have been perfect.

Kerr is fine in the role, but Dunne gives the character more strength --- she doesn't make you want to weep uncontrollably like Kerr does. Can we superimpose Grant's face on Boyer? And maybe a voiceover (I can't understand half of what Boyer says, anyway!).
