Review of Love Actually (2003) by Zach C — 09 Jan 2014
Typically, a movie with 8-9 plots strung together cannot work. Each one could have been a film in its own. Every time I'm getting settled on one story, it switches to another. The film is over two hours, but it still lacks detail.
And when it finally strings together in the end, it just gets chaotic and hard to follow. Another thing, why all the hate on Americans? The first gag on American women only falling for the rich and attractive was funny, but once I saw Billy Bob Thornton enter as the U.
S. President, I knew this was about to go way downhill. I wouldn't typically be bothered by it, but in today's society people will believe anything and will take this gag on Americans as the real thing.
The acting by most of the cast was superb, especially Bill Nighy who is probably my favorite character in the film.
