Review of Love (2015) by Theatralsoup — 12 May 2016
Is this film just about sex, just because it shows sexual actions in very explicit and many scenes? No its about love. This sex scenes were shoot in a very aesthetic, but also realistic looking way , not terrible over the top and totally stereotypical unrealistic like in many Hollywood movies.
But for me this movie is not just a pseudo-controversial-provocative film about sex. Its definitely about love. And you can feel that, also when you dont live in a relationship with someone. The cadres are beautiful, I love the long cuts and pauses with short black screens, which brings a huge charming, quiet and romantic atmosphere.
Its also a ironic movie about film making and directing cliches, a funny way to say something about his love about movies. Also sometimes beeing very epileptic the film does need some time.
