Powerful, transcendent film about a woman who is paralyzed from the neck down making a pilgrimage to Lourdes, France in hopes of being cured by a miracle from its supposedly healing waters. A deeply profound meditation on the nature of miracles and peddling faith as commodity, "Lourdes" defies easy categorization in favor of something much more beautiful and mysterious - a haunting balance between faith and doubt.
