Review of Louis C.K.: Chewed Up (2008) by Skyler B — 02 Jul 2011
Louis C.K. has come along way since Pootie Tang, and has indeed been releasing the best material of his career lately. This particular hour of stand-up is a must see for fans of his show Louie, as he delves into similar themes such as parenthood, middle-age, lack of fitness and ethnic slurs.
It's pervasively vulgar, but there is certainly a sweetness to his style that few other comics can match. With the jokes getting better as the special progresses, it also lends itself to plenty of repeated viewing with your friends (just makes sure your grandma isn't in the other room).
