Review of Lost in Translation (2003) by Joel C — 07 Jul 2012
Delivering a review for Sofia Copolla's Lost In Translation may be a difficult task, for this may just be one of my favorites. Lost In Translation has never been a romance to me, though arguably I suppose it can be claimed as one depending on your interpretation.
To me this film is simply about two people who share loneliness, depression, and ennui and form an unrelenting bond. Lost In Translation is simply a poignant yet often comedic tale of two individuals who simply can relate to one another.
It's a story of compassion. To me, this film is simply a masterpiece and the best of Sofia Copolla's films. The leads give excellent and often heart wrenching performances that make this viewing a truly unforgettable experience.
