Review of Lost in Translation (2003) by Steven M — 22 Aug 2012
I'm an avid hater of romantic comedy films. When I say avid, I mean I'm a serial HATER. But, if every romantic film was like Lost in Translation, I'd probably be more of a fan. The subtle humor used throughout the movie is personally right down my alley.
It was just enough to make you laugh but grasp the emotion of the situation the two main characters were in. The casting and acting was superb and as a result we are able to see exactly how awkward the characters were in trying to reveal to themselves how unhappy and happy they were at given times.
Lastly this film is a lot more realistic than most of its counterparts. None of the happily ever after-corny-I wish all men were like this- foolishness. I don't want to reveal everything in case you haven't seen the movie yet, but the complex relationship makes the movie worth watching all the way through.
Go on Netflix and watch it.
