Review of Lost in Translation (2003) by Alex V — 07 Feb 2013
I never really loved this movie as a whole, but every time I accidentally watch a part of it, any part, it touches me deeply and I find myself relating to it.. Cinematography was so great.. The screenplay cared so much about building real characters and complex situations but cared so little about how to move them forward in an interesting way.
. You can't imitate boring reality with boring scenes, I could've got how both of the main characters are lonely inside their lives and longing to have a real connection with someone outside it.
. In a much better engaging cinematic experience.. May be the only thing this movie is horribly lacking is a better storytelling..
