Review of Lost in Space (1998) by Andy B — 15 Feb 2010
I got this movie for free at the CNE, I bought 5 movies, and they threw in Lost In Space for free, cause they sure were not gonna be able to sell it, so, I own it, but I never really wanted to see, but since it was there I gave it a chance. Now, onto the review. Lost in Space has a fair amount of good to great actors, decent effects and a reconizable story, yet for some reason that I can't seem to put my finger on, it pretty much sucks. Everything seemed fake. You kinda know your in for trouble when the most sincere performance in the movie comes from Matt LeBlanc. So I am not sure why this movie didn't work, but it doesn't and I am glad it did not get a sequeal.
On a side note, if the doctor had a chance to go back in time, why jump back onto the crashing ship, why not go back to before they launch in the first place and fix the robot that causes all the fuss before it happened, just a thought.
