I would call this a 'cult classic' whatever that means... although it is a movie that, if you liked it, it stayed with you, and you remember it fondly.

I watched it in the cinema first time around, I think it was and is, amazing. ..okay.. so Matt LeBlanc's acting wasn't great, but it was his first sci-fi movie, And the rest of the cast put in good effort to carry the film well, William Hurt was as usual well played in this role, but the real star was ..Gary Oldman, who acted his doctorate off, superb!

The plot itself to my mind, was enjoyable sci-fi fair, and you could see a lot of money on the screen had gone into the plot.

I remember the title, by Apollo11, theme fondly also.

The cons tot he movie were the future ship was too dark, and back then in the cinema I couldn't really see what was happening, LeBlanc's bottle crashing at certain moments, and Heather Graham character had zero interest in LeBlanc's character and you could easily tell. but still, it was what it was.. an adventure. I heard it had a half completed sequel but got canned, I wonder if that's true.. I would love to see it.

As a movie ill always remember fondly, even if it wasn't, I'd still like to board the Jupiter 2 and get them home.

Peace.

Dava.
