Review of Lost Horizon (1937) by Derek C — 05 Apr 2008
Absolutely ridiculous. As a fan of Frank Capra, and cinema, this should be lost with the 12 mins. The story is muddled in the heavy-handedness of its message and the nothing is done well. Though the film's first 30-45 mins are interesting, Shangri-la is as forgettable as it is unrealistic.
The High Lama is ridiculous and whomever decided that it'd be better to include 12 mins of stills over finished audio was wrong. Capra should be ashamed of the $3 million wasted on this product.
