Review of Lost Horizon (1937) by Ian C — 19 Apr 2011
A grand adventure to a place lost to civilization - Shangri-La, a utopia in a time of global war. The philosophy of a pacifist society is explored through the dialog of the characters. Although one might discount such muses as naive and idealistic, it is still nice to be able to dream of such places.
Moreover it need only be metaphorical. Now why movies these days depict dystopian landscapes more often (think Terminator, 2012, Armaggedon etc)? May we all find our own Shangri-Las. Cheers.
