Review of Lost Highway (1997) by John M — 28 Jan 2009
Take it for what it is: a David Lynch film. In the David Lynch universe, sense and logic do not necessarily apply. You sit back and let your brain digest something well-crafted that doesn't have to make sense.
This is not a movie for everybody, trust me. You can come up with/read theories about what is reality and what is fantasy and still be wrong. You have to bear with it for the first 20 or so minutes, but as soon as the party starts, Lost Highway takes a turn for the intense.
Robert Blake is REALLY creepy as the Mystery Man, and all the lighting is uniformly fantastic. If you like David Lynch movies (like me), you will enjoy Lost Highway.
