Inspired to watch this after seeing mulholland drive again recently, and while this is not as good as that, its better than most make it out to be, I went in expecting it not to make sense, and I ended up realizing that it does in a broad sense, I had to read up to understand most of the details, but I was able to see basically what is going on, the tone is very menacing, and most of the performances are good, especially loggia, I wasnt that impressed with pullman or arquette tho.
