Review of Lost Highway (1997) by Cole B — 03 Aug 2008
One of Lynch's lesser films, yet still an intriguing, wildly off-kilter picture that pushes the issue of understanding off a cliff. As in all his films, he creates atmosphere better than most of today's filmmakers.
In the end, the film shifts between story lines that seem to forced together. Then again, who knows if that's how it's supposed to be. For Lynch, making squares and circles fit together is his forte, even if it means bending and morphing anything he can find.
That's what makes him so great.
