Witness Bill Pullman look moody for long stretches of time in this David Lynch film, which looks and feels like a parody of a David Lynch film. The long, slooow stretches of time where nothing happens, the parallel story that emerges halfway through, Patricia Arquette as a blonde AND a brunette (Lynch has a thing with contrasting blonde and brunette women).
..it all seems like it should be interesting and noirish, but it just comes off as weird and boring. Lynch fans are better off sticking with Blue Velvet and Eraserhead--which are just as weird, but not half as boring.
