Review of Lost Highway (1997) by Andrew T — 21 Feb 2015
Lost Highway is a film by David Lynch. I enjoy Lynch's style except here it feels more like a story was rearranged to fit within a certain formula. This formula would later be reused in Mulholland drive.
I have the same problem with both films. While the style is interesting, I feel like they both take fairly simple and ultimately uninteresting stories with underdeveloped characters and complicate them so that it plays like a Lynch film.
The result is interesting to watch because of the style but ultimately only mildly satisfying.
