Review of Lost Girls (2020) by Tony1984 — 19 May 2020
Based on a terrible real story which in capable hands would have been captivating. But not here. Dull as dishwater. It didn't help that the lead scowled, scolded, and whined from beginning to end. An unlikable abrasive character if there ever was one.
The focus on only one victim who might not have been a victim at all was also a mistake. We learned little to nothing about the other 15 victims. The attempt to destigmatize sex work failed too. Sex workers need better advocates than this.
