Review of Lost Christmas (2011) by Brandon P — 02 Feb 2012
This isn't going to take any awards for the best film ever made, but with such a low budget provided by the BBC you would be naive to start the film expecting a Hollywood budget blockbuster. Izzard manages to hold a certain air of mystery throughout and the rest of the cast give a solid performance.
Character development was the one underdeveloped part of the film leaving supporting actor Jason Flemyng's character feeling less of the spotlight than could have been provided. The plot is smart, but not arrogant and plays out like a well written book, especially in concluding.
The music however is especially well selected, the inclusion of Tom McRae's relatively unknown "Wonderful Chrismastime" sets the tone for both the tragic and happier moments in the film and ensures that this is a personal Christmas favorite.
