Better than Twilight. There are actually a few neat ideas in there, but mostly it is Corey Feldman sort of gnawing on scenery and looking silly.
Oh, and the original is sort of kid friendly (for kids old enough to not be freaked out by screaming vampires and gore), and is good in large part because it does not take itself particularly seriously. This version, unfortunately, plays things totally straight. And has a lot more cursing, gore, and boobage than a kid friendly movie should have.
