Review of Lost and Delirious (2001) by Sara H — 23 Feb 2009
More cheesey than CheeseWiz.
Okay, I wanted to like this movie. I really did. I thought-'it's about lesbians-it probably won't suck.' WRONG.
It started out promising enough exploring the relationships between two girls in a boarding school, and I waited for it to really go someplace special and really make a commentary on our society.....alas, it didn't deliver. This COULD have been a really powerful drama, but it was way too cheesey and clique'd and the ending was just god awful and didn't fit with the movie at all. I was surprised that it didn't occur to the director how cheesey the movie was!
It is based on a book, which I'm sure is FAR better than this sad excuse of a movie!
