Review of Lorna, the Exorcist (1974) by Kris V — 07 Aug 2011
I went into this movie with some doubts, as pretty much everything I've ever heard about Jesus Franco has been negative. Much to my surprise I really enjoyed this ultra satanic, sado masochistic, sexploitation sleaze fest.
The story is an insane playwright of S&M performances, finds out of a black mass through a prostitute. He proceeds to "exorcise" participants of the black mass, but for him exorcism essentially means cold blooded murder (he is the sword of the lord after all.
) The cops are on his trail but are mostly pretty fucking useless throughout the film, as he murders various chained up nude ladies one by one. Features gratuitous hairy bushes and boobies, some decent gore, satanism, lesbianism, S&M, orgies etc.
All in all a sleazy good time. Definently an under seen exploitation gem (apparently only 19 ratings on all of flixster.) Either way look forward to seeing more of Franco's work. Recommended.
