Review of Lorenzo's Oil (1992) by Aparna A — 03 Jul 2010
Half a star of my rating's for the real-life, do-it-yourself rather than rely on institutions message. It's more inspiring than any "inspiring" movie I've seen b/c usually those flicks are just, "he's infirm, how heroic" while in this movie his parents cure his ailment.
The acting's good for the most part, even from the kid, but some of the framing with them staring in through hospital windows, musical montages, etc. struck me as cheesy. I missed some parts of it so I'll've to check it out again.
