Review of Lore (2012) by Mark H — 10 May 2013
3 out of 5 stars. Effective filmmaking, but only if you like German style art, which is often in your face, stark and harrowing. For many people, this tortured journey by children of Nazis trying to reach the north, would be way too intense to be deemed entertainment.
Still, it is a different take on the oft trod subject of WW2 guilt in German culture since the film attacks middle class Nazi values through traumatic childhood experience.
