Review of Lords of Dogtown (2005) by Chloe G — 07 Aug 2012
If you're looking for an in-depth story on the story of skate I suggest Dogtown and Z-Boys (brilliant). But if you want to see the inner workings of the skaters lives that made the movement happen this is the film to see.
This movie takes a look at the more "teenage angst" aspect of their lives, seeing as they were kids and not just one-dimensional "skate characters". People seem to forget they were just kids who got thrown into an awesome yet confusing situation having to deal with newly found fame and fortune.
Plus its pretty heart wrenching because you really feel for the characters, each one in a different way. Check it out if you're into skating or even if you just wanna watch a chill flick with a good story.
