Review of Lords of Dogtown (2005) by Adam M — 21 Jul 2008
Very good drama about the rise of the skateboarding culture in 1970's Calafornia. This follows three friends who are into just hanging out, surfing and skateboarding until the owner of the local surf shop decides it's time they took a step up and forms a skateboarding team and the boys become more and more successful up to the point where their friendships are tested and threatened.
This has good performances from the whole cast, including Emile Hirsch and the late, great Heath Ledger,a brilliant soundtrack featuring some classic songs from the 70's and is a compelling look into the strength of friendship.
