Review of Lords of Dogtown (2005) by Codie E — 08 Oct 2008
A nice adaptation of his own documentary, Dogtown And Z-Boys by screenwriter and Z-Boy Stacey Peralta. Hardwicke again shows understanding and a kindrid relationship with the teens and youngster depicted on screen.
She keeps things exciting and flippant but with an emotional heft that brings it a level of quality that could so easily have fallen by the wayside. The cast is brilliant (Robinson and Angerano the pick of the kids, Ledger the pick of adults), Elliot Davis' photography inventive and the soundtrack killer.
