Review of Lords of Dogtown (2005) by La L — 31 May 2009
I had no real interest in seeing this film, since my interest in surfing/skating is non-existent...however, I was pleasantly surprised. The story's compelling and the theme of doing what you love is universal; Catherine Hardwicke's direction in this is quite similar to that of Thirteen, particularly the hand-held camera techniques which I admire.
Heath Ledger is fantastic in his performance and snatches almost every scene he's in. Killer soundtrack as well.
