Review of Lord of War (2005) by John F — 06 Jun 2010
This movie is a dark one indeed, but one of the most interesting I have seen. Nicolas Cage plays the dark gun smuggler who is very twisted. The whole movie you wait for the redemption moment where he turns from his evil ways and saves the day.
That however doesn't happen, the character he plays is truely evil. In fact you watch the whole movie thinking a one point someone will go too far and he will have a conversion. The performance by Nicolas Cage is good not great, and some of his co-actors could use a little more emotion but all in all a solid movie.
It does go out its way however to make a political statment at the very end, it really ruined the end for me, if they took that part out the movie would not have been interupted in any way plus it just would have been more smooth.
