Review of Lord of War (2005) by Tristan M — 09 May 2014
It's nice to finally see and movie not about the men firing the guns but about the men selling the guns: the arms dealers. This movie does a very good job of showing, and I'd say glorifying the life of an arms dealer, and does it in an almost inviting way.
It portrays the job as being a fun, easy and dramatic way of making millions, although not legally. Nicholas Cage does of good job of playing his lead roll, and I'd say its one of his best works yet.
His narrative throughout the film is good and helpful, which is nice because narratives usually get in the way without any real help of understanding the plot. The plot is good, it keeps you interested the whole time, and never fails to surprise you.
It ends in a unexpected way, but in a far better way than I though it would, and concludes the monologue Cage started in the begining. So all in all good movie, and better than I expected and hoped for.
