Review of Lord of War (2005) by Ken C — 27 Oct 2010
Lord of War suffers from one problem and one problem only, it jumps around way too much. One moment this regular everyday guy is selling guns independently and then all of a sudden he's selling guns to the biggest named terrorists, like how the hell did he get so big in the gun trade business so quickly? But aside from that this movie is as intelligent as it is fun, not to mention great performances from Nic Cage and everybody else including the brother. I just really wish that they didn't cut so much out of the story it just feels like it's moving too quickly and if it hadn't been for that this movie probably would have been a bigger and I mean bigger success. It's also a must see for hardcore Nicolas Cage fans such as myself because of how over the top the character gets when in a tight situation like in the seen where he has to get rid of all the guns stored on a plane that he can't let any cops see.
I think that they should of done the same thing with this movie that they did with Exorcist 2, re-edit it so then it would have gotten more praise from the critics. I still recommend watching this movie whether your a Cage fan or not it's pretty interesting and at times unbelievable.
