Nicolas Cage tries a more grounded, serious movie...and it pays off. Although not lacking the usual Cage satirical edge, this movie actually has a good message to it. Cage, although a weapons dealer, is easy to relate to since he's not evil, he just knows war will happen no matter what, so he may as well be the one to profit off of it.
While shoving real world realities forcefully down your throats, Lord of War give you a damn good time in the process.
