(2005) Lord of War.

DRAMA.

I was going to give this film 90% until the news showed the actual bozo the film was actually based on by the name of Viktor Bout (pronounced Viktor Boot)also nicknamed the 'merchant of death'- a real life arms dealer whose sold arms to undesired countries like the Talibans and Sumolias for the sake of money! Before Syriana (released Dec 9/05) and Charlie Wilson's War (released 2007), there was "Lord of War" released two months before "Syriana" which unlike those films that involved several characters making one's film experience baffling and unrelatable! The difference is that this film takes it's time in stating who Yuri Orlov(Nicolas Cage)is and why he does it which could jeopardize family and friends and how. I can relate to this type of character study when leading character says "I was never good at doing anything else" regardless how morally unethical and how many hurtful consequences it may bring. Never boring, this film is a major milestone to existing problems of politics of today!

One critic by the name of "Paul Byrnes" who gave it a negative rating remarks "this is what poor people are doing to each other with the guns the West sells them, it screams -- but there's no suggestion it might be stopped, or slowed.", except that this film only states the flawed bearocratic system which has nothing to do with the film itself- for the film only states it's problem leaving viewers this problem by their own, and should not have to "offer" any viewers any solutions to the existing problems amongst the beaurocratic system, it's only a movie for heaven's sake!
